The Center for the Study of Pedagogy recognizes the importance of making its website’s information and services accessible to people with disabilities. We work to improve the website’s usability so that as many people as possible can access its content and use its services.

Approximately one-quarter of Israel’s population encounters barriers when accessing the internet, including people with visual or hearing impairments, people with mobility disabilities, older adults, and others.

To provide optimal, professional, and accessible service to everyone, we have made the necessary accessibility adjustments to our website and implemented accessibility guidelines to the greatest extent possible. These adjustments were made in accordance with the principles of the Israeli accessibility standard and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Adjustments to Services), 2013, Section C: Internet Services.

The website has been adapted to meet the requirements of Israeli Standard 5568 at Level AA, in accordance with the WCAG 2.1 guidelines. The website’s accessibility features are compatible with leading browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer 9 or later.

Website Accessibility Features

The website includes features that assist navigation and orientation, including a skip-to-main-content link, interface state indicators, and keyboard controls for components such as menus and tabs. Certain components also respect the user’s preference for reduced motion.

The website also provides an accessibility menu with the following display adjustments:

  • Increase text size incrementally up to 200%.
  • Enable high contrast.
  • Display the website in grayscale.
  • Highlight links.
  • Highlight headings.
  • Switch to a readable font.
  • Increase text spacing.
  • Enlarge the mouse cursor.
  • Emphasize the focus outline during keyboard navigation.
  • Stop animations and reduce motion in supported components.
  • Reset adjustments and restore the default display settings.

Using the Accessibility Menu and Keyboard

To open the accessibility menu, select the accessibility button displayed on the website. Multiple adjustments can be enabled simultaneously and disabled as needed.

Use Tab to move between focusable elements and Shift + Tab to move backward. Press Enter to activate links. Buttons can be activated using Enter or the Space key, depending on the component. A skip-to-main-content link is available at the beginning of keyboard navigation.

Accessibility preferences are saved in the browser’s local storage when permitted by the browser. You can clear these preferences using the reset button in the accessibility menu.

Scope of Accessibility Adjustments

The accessibility menu provides tools for adjusting the browsing experience. Their effect may vary depending on the content and component being used. Content provided through external services, such as embedded videos, may not be affected by all adjustments.

If you encounter content or functionality that is inaccessible to you, please contact us for assistance or to request the information in an alternative format suited to your needs.
